Liapades, on the west coast of Corfu, is known for its dramatic limestone cliffs, turquoise waters, and a mix of organized and secluded beaches. Here’s a clear description of each one:
1. Liapades Beach (Gefyra Beach)

The main beach of the village and the easiest to access.
- Type: Pebbles and sand
- Water: Clear, calm, and great for swimming
- Facilities: Sunbeds, umbrellas, tavernas, small boats for rent
- Vibe: Relaxed and convenient
This is the most developed beach in the area, ideal if you want comfort, food nearby, and easy access. It’s family-friendly and a good base for renting a boat to explore nearby coves. There is only street parking.
2. Rovinia Beach

One of the most famous and photogenic beaches in the area.
- Type: White pebbles and sand
- Water: Crystal-clear, deep blue
- Access: 5-10 min steep walk from the parking area
- Vibe: Natural and scenic
Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and lush greenery, Rovinia feels wild and untouched. There are no organized facilities, so bring water and shade. It’s perfect for snorkeling and peaceful swimming.
There are 2 paid parkings as you go down the rock road to the beach. My suggestion is to park at the top somewhere.
3. Limni Beach

A small, secluded cove near Rovinia.
- Type: Large pebbles
- Water: Calm, clear, emerald-toned
- Access: Hiking path or boat
- Vibe: Quiet and intimate
Limni is much smaller and less crowded than Rovinia. Sea is on both sides. It’s ideal if you’re looking for nature and don’t mind a bit of a walk. The natural rock formations make it beautiful but there are no amenities. You’ll want water shoes because of the rocks.
4. Iliodoros Beach

A hidden gem that feels remote and untouched.
- Type: Pebbles
- Water: Deep, incredibly clear
- Access: Boat or long hike
- Vibe: Wild and peaceful
Iliodoros is for adventurers. It’s harder to reach, which keeps crowds away. The cliffs and turquoise water create a dramatic setting. Best visited by boat if you want easier access.
5. Glyko Beach

A charming small beach close to Liapades Beach.
- Type: Pebbles with some sand
- Water: Shallow near shore, very clear
- Access: 10 minute hike from road
- Vibe: Cozy and friendly
Glyko is a favorite for its beautiful rock formations and calm waters. It feels more intimate than Liapades Beach but still has some convenience thanks to the nearby taverna.
